Garuda: Symbol of power and protection
Garuda is a mystical creature in Hinduism and Buddhism. It plays the role of the vehicle of Vishnu and is a natural enemy of the Naga, which is associated with the meaning of removing obstacles and power. In Thailand, Garuda has been accepted as a symbol of the king since the Ayutthaya period. There is historical evidence such as the Garuda-shaped royal seal, which appears in documents and royal decrees since the reign of King Narai the Great (reigned 2199–2231 B.E.).
